[Verse 1: John Michael Howell]
Light, dark sides of his heart
Waging a war in his soul
They say he's destined for great
Burdened by all of their hopes
[Pre-Chorus: John Michael Howell]
Destiny (Destiny) whispering (Whispering)
When people hear of his name
[Chorus: John Michael Howell]
They call him the Chosen One, the loaded gun
The one to bear the weight
Through trial and pain, his path was paved
A prisoner of fate
He's just a man trying to stand
Under the weight of the world
Nobody knows the burden he holds
There's nowhere to run
For the Chosen One
[Verse 2: ZVC]
Some say what makes a man great
Is all in the choices he makes (Ooh-ooh)
But somewhere deep in my bones
I've always known it was fate
[Pre-Chorus: ZVC, John Michael Howell, Both]
Child of tragedy (Tragedy) with memories (Memories)
Fire that won't fade away (Ooh-ooh)
It was destiny (Destiny) whispering (Whispering)
When people hear of his name
[Chorus: John Michael Howell]
They call him the Chosen One, the loaded gun
